Natural  Hormone  Balance

We all know that hormone imbalances can interfere with a woman's quality of life.
If a woman's hormones are not balanced,
it will manifest in her life several different ways.
Firstly, let's look at the  basics:-

What is a Hormone?
They are substances secreted directly into the bloodstream and are produced by several glands and organs in the body. These organs are the ovaries, testes, thyroid, pancreas, pituitary, liver and others.
What do they do?
  • Every cell in the body relies on messages transported by hormones throughout the body via the blood stream
  • Hormones initiate reactions in the body
  • They regulate fluid retention, mineral metabolism, sexual function and libido, reproductive functions, growth and development, ageing and numerous other functions.
What is Oestrogen?
  • Oestrogen is one of the hormones produced in the body
  • It is the basic female sex hormone and is responsible for the development of female characteristics
  • It is balanced in healthy individuals by the hormone - Progesterone.
What is Progesterone?
  • Progesterone is a hormone produced by the ovaries, placenta and nervous tissue.
  • Progesterone receptors are found in almost every tissue of the body!
Every tissue of the body needs hormonal balance.
  • Its role is to balance the effects of oestrogen.
What are Xeno-Oestrogens?
  • Xeno-oestrogens are synthetic compounds that occur as a result of petrochemical industries
  • They are found in environmental pollution
  • Xeno-oestrogens are found in plastic. (How much plastic are you touching every day? Please do not leave plastic water bottles in the sun and do not place plastic wrap over food or food in plastic containers, into the microwave! Do not put any hot food into plastic containers.)
  • Xeno-oestrogens are found in pesticides
  • They are also found in many chemicals in personal care products, commonly used (These products are the 'off the shelf ' ones you find in most retail outlets)
  • Xeno-oestrogens are found in meat and chicken, as the empasis here is on fast production; antibiotics and hormones are given, especially to chickens.
  • When xeno-oestrogens are ingested or exposed to our bodies, they act like oestrogen and can cause the same negative effects similar to synthetic oestrogen.  Girls are reaching puberty earlier and earlier.

Vital Information Necessary for Informed Choices

  • Synthetic hormones used in HRT and the pill contribute to breast, ovarian and
uterine cancers, cardiovascular disease, fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis,
fatigue, liver disease, impaired thyroid function, lack of libido and more.
(An 18-year study of nurses conclusively links HRT to breast cancer.)
  • The missing factor in hormone balance is not oestrogen, but natural
      progesterone.
  • Menopausal and perimenopausal symptoms are not about oestrogen deficiency, but oestrogen excess.
  • Natural progesterone is one of the most effective ways to prevent and reverse osteoporosis.
  • There are safe and effective solutions to hormone imbalance at whatever age it occurs.
  • Tampering with a woman's hormones is tampering with her power.
  • Listening to the wisdom of our female bodies is the path to health.

Main Causes of Hormone Imbalances
(Oestrogen Dominance/Progesterone Deficiency)

Oestrogen dominance is a condition where oestrogen's toxic effects are not countered by progesterone. When there is a progesterone deficiency, a woman experiences a variety of oestrogen dominance symptoms. Progesterone is the key to a woman's hormone balance.

Before Menopause

    1. Failed ovulation: commonly seen by 35. Age and stress are the major
factors. Exposure to xenoestrogen chemicals in food and water may also
          cause early follicle burnout.
     2. Birth control pills: synthetic progestins commonly prescribed for HRT
and birth control cause many symptoms similar to oestrogen dominance,
and too much oestrogen in birth control pills may cause early follicle
          burnout.
    3. Hysterectomy: even when ovaries are left intact, the change in blood flow
in the area can cause ovary dysfunction or atrophy.
     4. Low progesterone production at corpus luteum: A lack of vitamin A,
an excess of caratone, uterine irritation, low thyroid are the known factors.
Since progesterone can facilitate thyroid, progesterone supplementation or
thyroid supplementation can break the vicious cycle of low throid and low
          progesterone.
     5. Overproduction of oestrogen: Since fat cells produce oestrogen, being
overweight can lead to overproduction of oestrogen. Also when ovaries
do not respond, increased oestrogen production may result to stimulate
          ovaries.
     6. Failure to eliminate oestrogen: Liver's ability to neutralize
oestrogen to eliminate it from the body can be impaired by various
causes. Slow colon movement can cause resorption of oestrogen from the
          intestines.
     7. Excessive conversion of progesterone to other hormones:
Stress coping hormones such as cortisone are produced from
progesterone. Thus, high stress can reduce the effects of progesterone
and shift the hormone production in favour of other hormones. Large
doses of progesterone have anti-stress effects and protect the adrenal
          glands.

After Menopause

After menopause (natural or surgically induced), ovaries no longer produce oestrogen or progesterone.
     1. Oestrogen replacement therapy: This is routinely used after
natural or surgically induced menopause, and is the major cause of
oestrogen dominance after menopause. Oestrogen should never be
used without progesterone. Most post-menopausal women have
enough oestrogen without ERT. (If you are on ERT, quitting cold
turkey is not recommended, reduce it gradually monitoring your
body's response and increasing the progesterone dosage to help the
          transition.)
     2. Overweight: Since fat cells produce oestrogen, being overweight can
          lead to overproduction of oestrogen.

Why isn't it suggested by my doctor?
Doctors have selective knowledge and education. Much of their information is provided by the giant mult-billion dollar pharmaceutical giants, not naturapaths.

What about my emotions?
Most women notice a leveling off of their emotions when they get their progesterone levels up to where they should be, especially if they have been a victim of oestrogen dominance. Some women actually report a feeling of well-being or euphoria. Thus, progesterone has been dubbed
'the happy hormone.'
