Meditation Course I for Health
and Well-Being.
This Course consists of Six Sessionsthat will introduce you to practices to enhance
Inner Calm,
Healing and
Well-Being.
Session 1 - Meditation, an Introduction and its
Health Benefits and Guided Meditation
Some guidelines for posture during meditation and relaxation;
breathing techniques. A relaxed body is the foundation for a relaxed mind.
Learn how to release tension, discover a place of deep physical calm,
of unwinding and letting go.

Session 2 - Mantra Meditation
An ancient form of meditation practice that involves the silent repetition of
certain words, phrases or sounds that are pleasing to the mind and
bring you into a meditative state.
The prayer phrase, or word, MA-RA-NA-THA, which means 'Come Lord',
is often used by Christian meditators, for example.

Session 3 - Meditation Tools
Exploring and using the meditation tools of mandalas and labyrinths.
This week you'll see how these ancient art forms have been re-discovered
and used as meditation tools.

Session 4 - Mindfulness Based Stillness Meditation
A step-by-step process to become fully aware of and comfortable
with the present moment experience, and for discovering
tranquility in the midst of a busy life.

Session 5 - Visualisation
Creative meditation that utilizes the power of the mind to generate
and enhance a state of deep physical and emotional well-being.

Session 6 - Loving-kindness Meditation
A practice to cultivate friendliness, goodwill and kindness towards
ourselves and others.
Helpful in dealing more effectively with external stressors.

Meditation Course II
'Mindfulness-Based Stillness Meditation'This is an endorsed program as taught by
The Gawler Foundation.
This Meditation Course brings about
Profound Healing and Well-Being.
This is a Six-Session Course that will bring you to a deep understanding of Mindfulness-Based Stillness Meditation. There is a structure with MBSM. It is very grounding. Meditation creates spaceousness in our lives. There is often so much busyness and clutter in our lives. MBSM is about spaciousness creating. We need space to give us the opportunity to get to know the real 'me'.
Mindfulness brings relaxation and a relaxing of the mind.
MBSM softens the doing. It also stops the ongoing momentum of the stress response.
MBSM is a very potent and direct antidote to the low grade chronic stress state that is so very prevalent in people of this post modern age.
Recommended Reading to accompany this course is the book "Meditation An In-Depth Guide" by Ian Gawler and Paul Bedson. Cost: $35.00

Six Week Course: Will run over consecutive weeks on Monday evenings, commencing 27th February and concluding 2nd April 2012.
Times: 7.30pm - 9.30pm
Cost: $120, including Suppers and Course Materials.
Weekend Course I and Retreat:
Dates: 2nd - 4th March 2012, commencing 7.30pm on Friday 2nd March and concluding 3.30pm on Sunday 4th March 2012.
Cost: $220, including all meals (except breakfasts), am/pm teas and suppers, and Course Materials; does not include accommodation.
Meditation Course II (Mindfulness-Based Stillness Meditation):
Six Week Course: Will run over consecutive weeks on Thursday evenings, commencing 1st March and concluding 5th April 2012.
Times: 7.30pm - 9.30pm
Cost: $120, including Suppers and Course Material.
Weekend Course II and Retreat:
Dates: 23nd - 25th March 2012, commencing 7.30pm on Friday 23rd March and concluding 3.30pm on Sunday 25th March 2012.
